4 actions that shape a life of longevity
My closest friend recently sent me a text and asked what word I felt God was speaking over this season. We exchanged a few messages, and ultimately, she said she felt her word was “ACTION”! I liked that. A spark of joy ignited in my heart at the thought that this could be a season of action for many. Who doesn’t want to step forward with intentions of progress and accomplishment? That kind of mindset is both healthy and achievable—so long as we don’t allow idealism to sabotage our first steps.
The word I kept hearing, however, was “LONGEVITY”. It’s not a flashy word. It doesn’t have the same punch as action. If "action" took on human form, it would look like Hugh Jackman in Wolverine—bold, dynamic, unstoppable. The word "longevity" conjures up images more like Professor X; not the commanding leader from X-Men, but the weary, battle-worn version in Logan—a man who has lived long, fought hard, and carries wisdom, even in moments of weakness.
Yet, despite its bald, age-spotted head, I recognize that longevity is a crucial word. It’s a call to maturity. It’s a promise for those whose faith is active and alive. It doesn’t wait for tomorrow—on the contrary, longevity is the legacy being built by the choices we make today!

Surround yourself with people who share your desires or who are already bearing the fruit of longevity in their calling. Look for those whose lives reflect the kind of faithfulness and endurance you want to cultivate. They are out there!
Your actions tell the world what you believe. And whether you realize it or not, you have influence. You can talk all day about your calling, but be different from the majority—actually walk it out. Decide to go after your promises. Take action, and you’ll find yourself building something that lasts.
